What started out as a place for fishermen has become an attractive destination for tourists from all over the world.
The Costa del Sol is located south of Spain's mainland, between Gibraltar and Nerja. In this stretch we find Malaga, the capital, which has one of Spain's largest international airports. Other places nearby that also attract tourists are Marbella, Fuengirola, Mijas and Nerja.
Approximately 1,000,000 inhabitants, of which 300,000 tourists, enjoy the 330 sunny days of the year. The climate means that there is a large range of outdoor activities. Beach, golf (it has more than 60 golf courses) as well as rich culture make the Costa del Sol a very attractive destination.
